Valley view from Timber Ridge units 1-34 during summer

Timber Ridge is the place to stay if you are looking for a room with a view. Each and Every condo has simply amazing panaramic views of either the valley or the ski area! No other property in Mammoth can boast such incredible views from all of the units. At least half of the condos have a 30' glass wall along the kitchen/living area as shown on the right. All units have full kitchens, real garages, and barbeques on the deck.

Timber Ridge is located above the lifts! It is the only ski in and ski out property with trails to both Canyon and Eagle Lodges.

**Ski In/Ski Out means YOU ARE STAYING ABOVE THE CHAIRLIFTS and actually SKI DOWN a RUN before boarding a lift.
You ski back into the condo via a different trail.

There are two trails out, one to Eagle Lodge (Units 1-34), the other to Canyon Lodge (Units 35-54)

SKIING OUT from the condos down to Eagle Express (best for units 1-34) requires LOW LEVEL INTERMEDIATE ABILITY. The trail out begins next to unit #1 / #15 on Timber Ridge / Forest Service property and leads to the Bridges Run down to Eagle Lift.

SKIING OUT from the condos down to Canyon Lodge (best for units 35 - 54) requires INTERMEDIATE ABILITY at minimum. The trail out begins about 50 yards beyond #53 on Timber Ridge property and leads to the Bluejay Run. Bluejay is a short black diamond run which ends at Chair 8 next to Canyon Lodge. However, lower level intermediate skiiers may cross Bluejay at the ski out point, where one can traverse through the woods under Chair 8 to the CloverLeaf Run.

Both trails out are groomed by Mammoth Mountain every 3 days or so at the Mountain's discretion.

SKIING IN to Timber Ridge requires only low level INTERMEDIATE ABILITY. There are 2 trails in, both off of the Chickadee Run. The first trail in (used for units 1-6 and 22-34) is off of the Chickadee Run about 75 yds beyond the intersection of the Bridges Run. The 2nd trail in (used for units 7-14 and 35-54) is also off of Chickadee about 25 yds before lower Bluejay.

THOSE WHO HAVE NEVER SKIIED BEFORE CANNOT SKI IN/SKI OUT from Timber Ridge!!!
One must drive 1 mile downhill to the Canyon or Eagle lifts to access trails suitable beginner skiers. It is a 1.5 miles drive to the Village shops and restaurants. It is NOT on the shuttle route. One MUST have a 4 wheel drive OR real chains. NO cable chains.

Timber Ridge is simply the greatest vacation spot for HEARTY types of people who enjoy "special", one of a kind places.

Built in the mid 70's (and renovated quite well as you can see by the photos on your right), it was the first and only condo property you could ski "from". Until the 2005 ski season, these ski trails were not groomed. Skiers forged their way through the trees down to the lifts. In the winter of 2005, Mammoth Mountain began grooming the ski in and the ski out trails from Timber Ridge to both Canyon and Eagle Lodges. This fantastic service, courtesy of Mammoth Mountain, has enabled low level intermediate skiers to enjoy the experience of skiing in and out of Timber Ridge safely!

(For condos with the 30' glass wall along the kitchen/living area, see rental units #7, 9, 12, 36, 37, 41, 47, 49, 50, 51, and 53. Some corner units have glass along the sides and the front. See rental units #36, 53, and 54 for those. The wide angle valley view shown below is that of units 1-6, and 22-34. Units 7-12 have the same valley view with no buildings in the foreground).
